Hashigo Korean Kitchen Reviews
I have been a big fan of this Korean Restaurant since it opened, last Sunday, the owner/Chef decided to closed it permanently. No! Why? I am so sad! We loved loved this hang out! It was were I can escaped and eat the comforting Korean deliciousness in the wee hours of night? It was such a cool place. We will miss your comforting Korean food, and hard working , and beautiful staff. Muah and Kisses. I am going to grieve for a while, your place was just down the street from my house. But I heard from your sweet staff, there is another Restaurant of yours in Tustin, called "Curry Don". YES! I will be there to check you out Chef. Thank you, and more thank you.
I absolutely loved Hashigo's wings!!! They're so savory and the wings are so tender and the skin/breading is so crisp! I got the spicy butter dip and it paired really well with the wings! The Chicken Wings were so light but filling that it's definitely my favorite chicken wing place! I come during the late evenings and enjoy that they're opened late. Servers are kind and attentive and the lobby is a bit small for some tables but the lighting and staging is very modern! I'll be back for when I'm craving chicken wings again! :)
Hashigo has one of the best Kimichi Chigae's around imo. They offer a very generous happy hour and college student discounts on Thursday. The menu is pretty short but definitely something for everyone (the menu online is not current, they went thru a menu change post covid). A fan favorite in our friend group is their Korean fried chicken, mama's style. There's a wide arrangement of sauces you can chose from. In our experience coming to Hashigo, the service has always been good and consistent. You can easily get a waiters attention if needed but for the most part they are very attentive of their customers. The ambiance is more of a chill/laid back restaurant. The times we've come the music was always throwback 90s with plenty of TV screens to watch the games. The location itself is great with plenty of good options. On the weekends they have free valet parking.
This restaurant is slightly busy so be prepared to wait if you're arriving during the lunch or dinner rushes. We were lucky as we arrived just as there was a clean, available table. Just a heads up, the bathroom is all the way in the back of the restaurant, it's a journey. - Kimchi Jjigae: The broth was great. It warmed my soul. - Corn Cheese: The meat and peppers were pretty good. You can't go wrong with corn and cheese together. - Chicken Wings: I love the combo of the crispy outside and juicy, tender meat. My favorite sauces were the spicy soy garlic and spicy bbq. I normally can't handle too spicy but these were perfect. - Kimchi Fried Rice: This was my least favorite. It tasted a little bland and definitely needed some kind of sauce or more kimchi.
I am so so sad that this location is closing. Hashigo was one of my favorite spots around here. I had a friend visit from out of town and she still raves about the food. The fried chicken is cooked to perfection. It is crispy, juicy, and delicious. I also enjoy the kimchi fried rice. My friends and I will usually split that with a few bottles of soju. This place was such a vibe, with the best food. I really hope they reopen
